Ladies sing the BLUES...

On 11/27... the last Tuesday of November 2018 (duh), we dined! A slightly smaller group than usual but even bigger laughs. We talked fashion of course and the theme of this month's dinner blue = calm. We talked peace tactics and made resolutions to find our calm. A lovely night with lovely ladies.

Aesthetics: 12/10

First things first.... BISTECCA is GORGEOUS! I found this restaurant initially by driving past and drooling over the modern, stark white structure. I did a quick google search and knew I HAD to try it. Upon arrival on Tuesday, my jaw dropped a little. The exterior does not justice to the impeccably appointed interior. White walls and pops of lemony yellow. Mellow music and perfect lighting. Dining at Bistecca was a visual feast.

Appetizers Rating: 10/10

FRITTI TRIO - Perfectly fried calamari, shrimp, and oysters. Plump, juicy, and well seasoned, this generous portion is meant to share. The dish came out sizzling hot which I truly appreciate with fried dishes. DUCK CONFIT RAVIOLO - A chef's special for the night. Recommended by our excellent server, Alex. Tender and flavorful. I am a sucker for duck and this lived up to my expectations. The plump pasta was stuffed lovingly and served over an epic red wine reduction.

ITALIAN BREAD: The quintessential flaky, chewy Italian loaf served temptingly warm. I loved the gremolata of olives, onions, and bell peppers that accompanied the obligatory butter and olive oil.

Entrees: 9/10 MIX GREEN SALAD (not pictured) - Crisp. Fresh. Dressed to perfection. One diner ate light (not I) and enjoyed it.

PAPPARDELLE PASTA and broccolini - in a parmesan cream sauce. I substituted shrimp for the menu listed herbed chicken. The dish was plentiful and tasted amazing. I love when I can truly taste the freshness of the ingredients. Pasta dishes can sometimes blend together in one's memory. This one stands OUT. The pasta was al dente ON THE NOSE *insert heart eyes*

SPAGHETTI ALLA CARBONARA - with smoked pancetta. Not my dish but it looked amazing. The diner enjoyed it thoroughly.

BOROLO BRAISED SHORT RIB - over garlic mashed potatoes and pickled heirloom carrots. The PRETTIEST presentation of the night. We were wowed by this plate. The diner reported that her food was delectable and I am going back to confirm this. LOL

PAN SEARED WILD SALMON - with lobster lemon risotto and crabmeat. Another GORGEOUS dish. I love BISTECCA'S attention to detail. The diner that ordered this loved the dish. I mean how can you go wrong with three types of seafood in one dish?

Dessert: 10/10

There's no dessert menu online but I took a gamble and booked anyway LOL

BREAD PUDDING: A lovely ramekin of hot, fluffy goodness. Each stuffed guest found room for at least a spoonful. Definitely finish your dinner off with this. Ask for a side of ice cream as I did to ascend to sugar heaven.

... and NOW the looks!

The lovely ladies did not disappoint. Each variation of blue is chic! YASSS!

That's all, folks. Next month is extra special... STAY TUNED!
