Heavy Metal March

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii....

Guess who's back? It's me. I'm BACK!

I took a hiatus and I missed the monthly dinners so much. The weather finally broke and gave us a few glorious days of sunshine in Houston. This month I chose a restaurant I had been to before and the diners were not disappointed. Mia Bella turned out to be the perfect setting for the comeback. Serene and just plain pretty, this chic Italian eatery delivers on the ambiance requirement. It's located in Greenway Plaza and you HAVE to go. Now, on to the food:

APPETIZERS: 8/10

THIS. BREAD.

It comes out hot and fluffy and steamy and salted and..... *wipes drool*

It's the perfect start to a delicious meal.

Next, we ordered the calamari. Everyone's had calamari. This dish you can skip. The squid was fresh but there was not a pinch of salt, pepper... nothing. Crispy and bland. PASS!

ENTREES: 10/10

CRAB CAKE

sweet potato balsamic chutney & saffron wine reduction

GRILLED SALMON

With creamy lemon zest risotto, cherry tomatoes, grapefruit segments, grapefruit vinaigrette & grilled asparagus

SICILIAN BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIBS w/ side of ROASTED CAULIFLOWER:

ROASTED GARLIC MASHED POTATOES (subbed) & balsamic chipotle glaze

CREATE YOUR OWN PASTA OR RISOTTO:

Our vegan guest opted to create her own pasta dish which she thoroughly enjoyed.

.... and FINALLY....The ladies came through shining shining shining (yeeeeaaahhh) in their metallic LOOKS!

That all, folks! Stay tuned for next month. You won't be able to miss us ;)
