Feeling Florescent

I have this thing with standing out. Either I'm all the way *BAM* or I'm super lowkey. As a libra, we don't do moderation. Extremes are it. As I thought about the next theme after the March metallic dinner, I decided for BAM! I present a night in NEON:

In keeping with the boldness craving, I selected Kiran's as the backdrop to our intimate dinner. Indian cuisine is known for bursts of flavor and color and the decor in this unique Houston gem is lush!

Guests were greeted by a heavy hammered brass door that leads to taste bud nirvana.

Appetizer: 10/10

PANI POORI - semolina & wheat flour puffs, potato, garbanzo, pomegranate, mint-tamarind water

SAMOSAS - crab & corn

Guests dined on various versions of naan, made to order flatbreads that can be stuffed or topped.

Entrees: 10/10

BUTTER CHICKEN - pulled tandoori chicken, honey & saffron tomato sauce

CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA - tandoor-roasted chicken breast tenders, creamy tomato sauce

LAMB SHANK - slow-cooked, aloo methi

CHICKEN BIRYANI - saffron basmati rice, apricots, cranberries, cashews, with English cucumber raita & bagare bengan

CHOICE OF SOUP FLIGHT OR BOWL - three house-made soups & onion bhaji

Cocktails: 9/10

LILY IN THE PINK: Gin, lemon, rosewater, cava

MANGO MOJITO: Rum, mango, lime, mint

Guests did not disappoint with the FASHIONS! Some looks were FULLY fluorescent while some opted for neon notes:

I opted for a neon yellow TOSHOP sheath with neon green snakeskin Steve Madden stilettos accented by royal blue earrings which I made. What do you think?

I can't wait to host May's dinner. Stay tuned for the theme!
